I have never been one to look at the credits as they slowly rolled at the end of the movie or tv show that I was watching. It didn't interest me whatsoever who wrote what, who created what and most times who directed what. Oh, I have favorite directors, for sure. Quentin Tarentino is my all time favorite, but I have others that have drawn me back to their movies over and over. Alfred Hitchcock, being another of my favorites. As I got older, I noticed that many of my favorite actors were taking on the role of directors, first coming to mind is Clint Eastwood. He directed a movie that I didn't think I would enjoy, simply because I didn't like one of the actors in it, even though I adored the work of the rest of the crew on the film. Mystic River is the movie that I am referring to. I read the book by Dennis LeHane, and I just couldn't put it down. My copy became worn and aged much quicker than any other book I had in my bookcase. So of course I was going to watch the movie! Imagine how thrilled I was to learn that it was being directed by Clint Eastwood who had taken the Oscars by storm with his Unforgiven and frankly, I expected him to do just as well with Mystic River, and how could he not, with such an incredible cast! So, I digress... My point is that for me, noticing anything other than the cast of characters was just not something I did, until 2013, when I discovered what so many others had already discovered, a man with such huge talent for creating shows, that is surprised me that I had never sat up and took notice of him before! With the release of Hannibal the TV show, I ran to my computer to find out everything I could possibly learn about what was now my favorite of all time, tv show! The first person that I of course ran into was none other than shows creator, Bryan Fuller, someone that I had never even heard of, but as I have just explained, it came as no surprise that I had never heard of him. Even though I was (still am!) a huge fan of Star Trek TNG and it's spin off Star Trek Voyager I never noticed his name in the credits, but again, why would I? I never looked! My bad! Then I looked at his many accomplishments and was totally blown away because I knew of his other shows! I watched Deep Space Nine, Dead Like Me and Heros so it wasn't that I didn't know of his shows, I just didn't know who he was. Sorry Bryan! :)
